Exhibitor Profile: Merche Textiles

The Mexican supplier of blankets and other home textiles products is set to exhibit at the Nearshoring America Expo.

Merche Textiles, the San Jerónimo Chicahualco, México-based resource for home textiles products, is the latest exhibitor signed for the upcoming Nearshoring America Expo in Dallas this December.

We talked to the company’s president, Mercedes Gordillo, about Merche Textiles, their products and why they are exhibiting at the Expo.

Nearshoring America Now:  Tell us about Merche Textiles.

Mercedes Gordillo: Merche was born in 1974 as a company specializing in knitted sweaters. I am the daughter of the founder and we have since expanded into blankets, textile designs and home decor items. Our factory has the capacity to produce large quantities of blankets, allowing us to offer reasonable lead times and high quality products that reflect our commitment to innovation and family heritage.

NAN:  What kind of products do you make and what are your specialties:

MG: At Merche, we offer a diverse range of products including blankets, cushions and home decor items. We specialize in knitting and fabric sublimation techniques, which allows us to create innovative and high quality designs.

NAN:  What are the advantages of working with companies like yours over Asian suppliers?

MG: Our geographical proximity facilitates communication and allows for more efficient shipping times. In addition, our products are 100 percent made in Mexico, guaranteeing a superior level of quality. We are committed to ethical labor practices, ensuring fair working conditions and living wages for our employees.

NAN: Why did you decide to exhibit at the Nearshoring America Expo?

MG: We are using Nearshoring America Expo as a platform to enter the U.S. market and establishing business relationships with retailers and importers who value high quality products and are looking to offer unique home décor options made in Mexico. We believe this is an excellent opportunity to showcase the quality and design of our blankets and decorative items, manufactured in Mexico, and to establish strong business relationships with the U.S. market. We are very interested in forming strategic alliances with companies that share our vision of offering high quality products and distinctive design.
