Assanti Brings Modern Mexican Craftsmanship to the Americas

Set as an exhibitor at the Nearshoring America Expo, the company blends culture and Modern Mexican style in its furniture and home décor.

One of the highlighted exhibitors at the Expo this December is Assanti by Urizz, which takes an eye for natural patterns to craft home and office furnishings that present themselves as stories. Founded by Eduardo Gaona Urizz, Assanti is dedicated to designing and manufacturing custom home and office furniture that reflects the essence of modern Mexican style, fused with global inspirations and finished products that elevate living spaces and stand the test of time.

Urizz’s passion for design took him on a remarkable journey across the world, leading him to Kenya, Africa, where he encountered a small tribe that spoke a Swahili dialect. The tribe's kindness and warmth left a lasting impression, inspiring him to name his company Assanti, derived from the Swahili word "ASSANTE," which means to thank the universe. This name encapsulates gratitude for the diverse cultures and traditions that influence his designs.

Assanti specializes in a wide range of furniture and accessories, including armchairs, tables, lighting, shelving and room accessories. Design styles combine lines and forms of Scandinavian, industrial, naturalism and African styles.

The company also has a strong commitment to sustainability, starting with its material selection. All products are crafted from high-quality, eco-friendly wood sourced from South Carolina. This approach highlights a dedication to responsible forestry, underscored by the company's Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification.
